We are very proud to publish the SIS Annual Review 2022-2023 : More Than Interpreting
We have been working hard to sustain and develop our suite of language support services (pages 8-10).
Our vision is to provide integrated pathways for Service Users to easily access social care and health.
We want to do this at the heart of our communities.
We have been working in an environment with multiple risks and challenges; NHS appointment backlogs and strikes, the dispersal of greater numbers of asylum seekers to unsuitable accommodation, the displacement of people from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan and many other countries, demographic shifts, a cost of living crisis, a mental health crisis.
We have tried to meet these challenges. Our 12 areas of Compliance Plus for Customer Service Excellence show we are thriving (page 5).
Our core service is Community Interpreting.
This has returned to pre-pandemic levels. We are now working with over 5000 Service Users, 30% more than last year.
We take great care to present accessible and reliable data that can be accurately compared over many years (pages 6-7).
We encourage public services and the Community, Voluntary & Social Enterprise Sector to use this resource to understand the language needs of our diverse communities and to plan their services.
We hope you find our Annual Review an informative and engaging read.
