The Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Act 2024 and subsequent Home Office actions is creating a sense of alarm amongst people who feel that they may be targeted for removal to Rwanda.
It is very important that we work with others to promote reliable and accessible information. This is something we worked hard to do during the pandemic.
If you know of a Service User who has received a Home Office letter which mentions RWANDA or NOTICE OF INTENT please let us know.
Please help us to promote translated and validated information which offers helpline telephone support.
Care4Calais has translated helpful information into 16 languages and are intending to add more.
Please visit https://care4calais.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/UK-NOI-leaflet-Edited.pdf for translated leaflets in:
Albanian, Amharic, Farsi, Dari, Farsi, French, Georgian, Kurmanji, Pashto, Punjabi, Somali, Sorani, Spanish, Tigrinya, Turkish, Vietnamese.
SIS has uploaded this translated information onto our language specific Service User pages – https://sussexinterpreting.org.uk/service-users/
We are part of Brighton & Hove Sanctuary On Sea who have written to Brighton & Hove City Council asking that they promote access to this vital translated information.
We have worked with our colleagues in Brighton & Hove Libraries to distribute hard copies of translated information.
Community Base Reception colleagues are also aware of the situation and we have made hard copies available for anyone coming to Community Base for support.
It is vital that people receive good quality and free legal advice.
