The core service SIS provides is the delivery of interpreting support for public services and the community and voluntary sector. In addition to that, we also provide our Service Users with extra support through the work of the Projects Team.
For the SIS AGM in December 2022, we created a short video aimed at SIS linguists. The video showcased our current projects and how linguists can help Service Users to access support or to get involved in the project work themselves.
We have now created a version of this video aimed at Service Providers and Partners. You can watch to find out about our Social Prescribing, Community Advocacy, Befriending, Community Engagement, Community Research, and Health Promotion work. Our project work is carried out by a combination of trained bilingual volunteers and professionals. Everything is delivered directly in the Service Users’ language.
We recognise the power of a digital approach to information sharing, especially post-pandemic when in person meetings and printed materials are still not as commonplace as previously. This video format is easy to share with your colleagues or other networks.
You can get in touch if you have any questions or want to refer a Service User to us.
