Great news – SIS is once again providing Bilingual Advocacy services!
Sussex Interpreting Services, along with POhWER, Mind in Brighton and Hove, MindOut, Brighton & Hove Speak Out and Impact Advocacy are now providing the Sussex Advocacy Partnership. This is a new advocacy hub for the people of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex.
The 2018 Brighton & Hove Advocacy Needs Assessment was very clear about Bilingual Advocacy being included in the Service Specification. Commissioners interviewed Service Users who spoke about the importance and effectiveness of Bilingual Advocacy.
We are delighted at the commitment to a 4-6 year contract (subject to annual performance).
Bilingual Advocacy will complement our Bilingual Community Navigation service.
Together this will mean a range of support for more vulnerable and isolated service users.
