We are here to help!
We have been busy giving this clear and straightforward message to those who need our essential services in this unprecedented crisis.
Our vital 24 hour emergency interpreting service continues and we have bolstered our capacity to deliver – 0800 999 1950.
We are offering and delivering remote interpreting options wherever appropriate and possible. This is reflected on our website landing page: https://sussexinterpreting.org.uk/
SIS is delivering our other support services; social prescribing and advocacy, via telephone and email. We are collaborating with established and emerging local networks to direct people to support services. Our focus is the most vulnerable and isolated.
We have implemented our Business Continuity Plan and are working remotely. You can view contact options here: https://sussexinterpreting.org.uk/
Our Self-Employed Sessional Linguists and Volunteer Linguists have been magnificent in risk assessing situations and choosing to provide communication support wherever this is safe and appropriate.
Some are very experienced in working remotely and have offered their knowledge, others are new to this. We are working to answer any questions and to provide resources to help SIS Linguists.
We have a working document of remote communications options that is available for our partners and NHS practitioners – please contact our Coordination or Digital Teams for a copy.
Translated information about COVID19 is available on the SIS website https://sussexinterpreting.org.uk/service-users/
We are keeping updated links to the latest guidance and information on coronavirus and social distancing https://sussexinterpreting.org.uk/news/translated-information-from-public-health-england/
Thank you to everyone who is working so hard so that we can continue to make a difference to the health and well-being of our service users.
