Volunteers registered a Net Promoter Score of 70 which is considered Excellent and means we have strong Word of Mouth recommendations

Although it was only 1 or 2 people who gave negative responses there are clear areas for development indicated here particularly around face to face meetings, training (below) and support/supervision.

What do you most enjoy about your role as a Volunteer Linguist with SIS?

• The pleasure of feeling that you have genuinely helped someone.
• Helping others, flexibility.
• Friendly colleagues.
• I enjoyed being able to assist Service Users with their challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
• Dealing with Service Users, practising my Spanish also.
• Spending my free time in helping others.
• The areas that I am able to support with.

What are the biggest challenges for carrying out your role?

• Accommodating the uncertainties of availability and poor punctuality on the part of Service Users as well as Service Providers.
• People’s frustration with the health system.
• Sometimes Service Users can overwhelm with the amount of tasks they would like volunteer to help them during a single session.
• Making sure Service Users follow up e.g. send me documents when they say they will, or taking on a volunteering role once it was set up
• Time and busy life
