SIS is delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists, from 200 entries, in the Social Prescribing Awards 2024.
This honour is in recognition of fantastic work carried over the past 8 years by our team of volunteer linguists and paid caseworkers. We have supported nearly 3000 people with their social, emotional and practical issues. Our linguists provide holistic, tailored, culturally appropriate support that helps Service Users feel empowered to build on their own skills & strengths and co-produce an action plan which ensures their needs are heard, understood and met.
We are so proud of the impact we can have on individuals and families, the feedback from Service Users is overwhelmingly positive e.g.
“I had been feeling isolated. This is the first time someone has asked me if I need something. I am very grateful as this is the first time, in the year and half since I arrived in the UK, that I have received such great support in such a short space of time. Without your help, I would never know that these services exist in the community.” Service User B
“I would never know how to do all this without you, I feel that my life is progressing in a positive way. Thank you so much for being here to support me.” Service User R
“I feel very grateful that SIS agreed to support me further. I struggle with English and have been feeling more and more anxious and unsure what to do.” Service User K
“As new to the country with no English, family joining me recently, my wife with health conditions and young children, I would not know what to do or where to ask for support. Thank you so much for helping us to feel supported and get the help we need.” Service User C
The winners were announced on day one of the 5th International Social Prescribing Conference on 19 June 2024 at the University of Westminster. The breadth and variety of services and the exceptionally high quailty standards were amazing and SIS felt privileged to be considered alongside them. The Winners’ Guide can be viewed here
