We recently submitted an application to join the this year’s Brighton & Hove Community Pride Parade and I am pleased to announce it has been accepted!
The Parade takes place on Saturday 4th August 2018 setting off from Hove Lawns, making its way through Brighton to Preston Park. Click here for a map of the parade route.
The theme for this year’s parade is “Colour My World: Carnival of Diversity” so it’s a fantastic year for SIS to be involved for the first time. The parade will be based around the colours of the rainbow flag and each float will be assigned a colour for their props and costumes.
To find out more about the meanings of the colours of the rainbow flag and this year’s theme please click here.
The walking float will be made up of staff team members, Community Interpreters and Volunteer Linguists. We are making a variety of double-sided speech bubbles with translated words for Pride, celebration, unity, community etc in as many languages as possible.
We’ll be sharing photos from the day on social media and hope to see you at the parade celebrating the LGBTQ community across all cultures.
