We held our annual Summer Celebration on Wednesday, 16th July, welcoming Linguists, Volunteers, Staff, and Trustees to the Friends Meeting House in Brighton for the second consecutive year. The event brought together 30 attendees who enjoyed food, conversation, and the chance to reconnect in person.
“I feel really happy to be part of the event. I have mainly been communicating with our linguists via email. The picnic gave me the opportunity to meet them in person and see their real faces. It adds a personal touch to our working relationships,” – Rosie, SIS Learning & Development Manager.
The celebration has become a tradition we really look forward to at SIS, a way to offer a heartfelt “thank you” to Linguists and Volunteers for their vital support of local communities. For Community Interpreters, it also offers a rare and valuable opportunity to connect with peers in what can often be an isolating role.
Thank you to our Staff Team for organising and promoting such a wonderful event and to everyone who joined us on the day.
A special thank you to the volunteers of Friends Meeting House who maintain the garden, a beautiful and tranquil oasis in the heart of the city.
