We recently received feedback from several health practitioners about their positive experiences of working with SIS Interpreters.
Colleagues were particularly impressed by the preparation for the sessions and the calm delivery.
We encourage Interpreters to prepare and colleagues to book interpreting pre sessions wherever possible.
“I would like to share some positive feedback about an Interpreter who to came to see us in Children’s Audiology at Brighton General Hospital today. I was the Audiologist due to see the child who unfortunately was not brought. The Interpreter was so well prepared for the appointment with notes on otology, ear anatomy and even went out of her way to add some additional terminology after a brief discussion about a poster on the wall. It was so reassuring to see that an Interpreter would prepare so well and be so familiar with the terminology we use in other languages. Excellent!” (Sophie Brinkworth – Audiologist – Seaside View- Sussex Community NHS Trust)
“I would like to leave some feedback for an Interpreter I had the pleasure of working with recently – he was incredibly professional. During the time before our appointments with my client, we went through the purpose and format of our calls and he allowed me to ask any questions. During the call, his interpreting was smooth, clear and concise. He came across as empathic and cared about the client’s experience of the call.” (Alexi Filsell – Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner – Health In Mind – Sussex Partnership NHS Trust)
The Interpreter added: “It is always nice to hear positive feedback. As you know, that is what I strive for in every session. It gives me immense pleasure to know that, the service provider and service user, are happy with my professionalism.”
“I just wanted to provide some feedback for an interpreter who assisted with an appointment for my patient earlier today. He was so calm and patient during quite a difficult appointment, he made the patient feel at ease and he was very clear and concise. He did a brilliant job.” (Ro Kirkham-Leahy – Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner – Wellbeing Service, Brighton & Hove – Sussex Partnership NHS Trust)
Our thanks and appreciation to the three Interpreters involved.
