Self-Employed Linguists
Are you fluent in English and another language? Would you like to use your language skills to help communities in Sussex?
We’re looking to enrol Community Interpreters into our existing pool.
SIS delivers face to face, video and telephone interpreting in 49 languages in the heart of the community.
Sessions take place remotely and face to face throughout Sussex in a range of health, social care and voluntary sector settings.
Sessions are offered on a freelance basis so there is great flexibility to do as much or as little as you like.
We engage the services of Self-Employed Linguists when we identify a need. This need could arise due to an increase in demand for a particular language or an increase is demand in a certain geographical area or because a linguist has moved out of the area. It could also be because we have a new service user who speaks a language that we do not currently have in our interpreting pool.
