SIS would like to give a big thank you to all the volunteers who have made such a massive contribution to the work which we do.
SIS works with a fantastic group of 32 Volunteer Linguists who chiefly deliver Social prescribing at our regular drop-in sessions as well as at appointments at Community Base and other locations around the city. SIS’s 8 trustees have an absolutely essential involvement in the running of the organisation and our Community Interpreters also help out voluntarily, listening to language messages, with conference calls and promotion of our additional services.
SIS Service Users have also given up their time to help SIS through speaking about the ways in which they have benefited from the support which we offer. They have participated in case studies for reports and talked with quality mark assessors, commissioners and other services to represent SIS. In addition to this, Service Users have presented at our AGM again this year, just as they have done for many years previously.
“The help I received from SIS led me to think that life isn’t so bad; there are still people here to help. More services like this are needed – it makes a real difference. I wish SIS every success moving forward, making people happy and enabling them to move on with their lives.” (SIS service user)
