Suffolk and North East Essex NHS have collated a fantastic resource of translated advice and information on pregnancy, birth and postnatal care which will be invaluable to maternity professionals who are working with people who have language needs.
SIS has promoted this widely to our NHS colleagues and community interpreters so that information can be easily accessed, printed or links sent via text, Whatsapp or email.
The resource is an open access collection of leaflets, audio recordings and videos, all available on this Padlet.
There are a range of language ‘headers’ with most of the core languages spoken in Brighton represented.
Each of language sections has an array of resources on topics such as
- Planning birth
- Screening tests for you and your baby
- Looking after yourself
- Safer pregnancy
- Women’s Aid Resources
- FGM Resources
- Gestational diabetes
- Changes to your baby and body during pregnancy
- Bereavement
- Labour and birth
