Brighton & Hove City Council is giving you an opportunity through the Move for Change campaign to earn reward points every time you walk, cycle, or take public transport. The points can be “spent” at local shops or businesses or donated to charity.
SIS is working with BHCC for the app to be used by the largest language speaking community in the city – Arabic. BHCC have translated the information poster which we are promoting widely.
SIS has always encouraged staff and linguists to use sustainable travel and we are encouraging all staff and linguists to use the app.
Move for Change is powered by a mobile app called BetterPoints. The app is free and easy to use. You can choose “automatic tracking” or track journeys individually. After each journey you can look at the app and see where your route (where you have travelled) on a map and see the distance you travelled, how long it took and how much CO2 you saved compared to if you had taken that journey in an average sized car.
You can earn points any time, for any journey within Brighton & Hove, but also for any bus travel that starts or ends as far as Haywards Heath to the north, Worthing to the west and Eastbourne to the east.
You can ‘spend’ your points get a discounts at local cafes; spend as vouchers in local Brighton supermarkets or at big stores like Asda or Tesco. You might even win a £40 voucher for a bicycle service in a prize draw!
So download the free BetterPoints app, sign up to the Move for Change campaign and start getting rewarded for your active and sustainable travel!
